Workstation Installation On SL Thursday, Jul 24 2008

huumm, I’ve right away came from my client to install and prepare for the Monday CRP. I didn’t know why the workstation installation on SL 65 SP 2 could not work properly. The VBA ctl app error always came every I opened the customization screen. Actually this one won’t happen in the previous SL version.

At that time, I remembered about folder hierarchy of SL 7 when it was installed. Sl 7 makes the solomon’s application folder under the Microsoft Dynamics folder. From this case, I have to create my own folder so that my solomon’s application folder will be under a folder. Then I have to map it on that root folder. For example, I install the solomon SL 65 SP 2 on C:\Dynamics\Solomon, it means I have to map it in Dynamics folder. I could not map it directly to Solomon folder, because the VBA error will appear when you install on the client. Finally it worked great :)

 

Installing XP on IBM Lenovo R61 Wednesday, Jul 23 2008

wuaah, long time no see my blog, so busy few months ago #:-s.. well, today I’d like to share how to install OS Win XP on IBM Lenovo R61.

First of all, please go to your BIOS, and setup the configuration of Serial ATA from AHCI to compatibility, and turn off the core duo functionality. After that, please install the XP as usual. Since your installation has finish, please don’t install the drivers first, but you should install the intel storage manager. You could download it here. After your download has finished, please run and extract it into C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM, and then double click install.cmd in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM\PREPARE.

The next step is turn off your notebook, and go to your bios setting, and set back the Serial ATA configuration to AHCI, and turn on again the core duo functionality. When your XP run again, you’ll find the welcome to the found new hardware wizard. Please select no, no at this time, and then click next. Select Search for the best driver in these locations. Then select Include this location in the search:, specify the path, C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM, and click Next. The Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard appears.

After your computer was restarted, you could install the drivers and download it from here. All drivers will be run smoothly except audio drivers. You should cheat it to make it run smoothly. Please follow below steps to make it come true.

Finally, your IBMR61i will run smoothly on Win XP :)
